By now, most of you have attended four Pi r2 professional development sessions during this school year. At this point, we are halfway through the project, and so we now want to take the opportunity to learn about your perceptions of the Pi r2 professional development.
Please reflect upon and discuss your thoughts and opinions regarding the Pi r2 professional development in which you’ve participated this school year.
You can write whatever you want as long as it is relevant to the prompt, but these questions may help guide your thinking: To what extent do you find the professional development to be useful and applicable to your teaching? How so? How successful has the professional development been in improving your knowledge about science concepts and inquiry teaching strategies? What suggestions do you have that would make the professional development sessions more meaningful or useful to you?
Your response should ideally be at least two paragraphs. Please make sure your reflection is thoughtful and COMPLETE. Thanks!
The cohort PD has been a mixed blessing for me this year. I am learning alot about science concepts that I knew very little about. It has helped with a background knowledge to give my students. The difficulty has been that I have changed grade levels. I feel I am getting several things thrown at me at a time. I would have liked to have this when I have a handle on the curriculum and pacing guide.
ReplyDeleteI have been exposed to the inquiry method before, and been very unsure about it. This professional development has given me a better
understanding of how to use this method in my classroom. The one way this PD would be better can not really be fixed by you. This would be much better if I were familiar with my curriculum and had taught it before.
