February Journal Prompt

During the professional development sessions, in addition to participating in an outreach program, you’ve been participating in additional inquiry-based activities that align with the outreach program. As a reminder, here are all the activities that you have participated in during this project: the Science Court lesson was done during the first session, the "Lily Pad Venn Diagram" lesson (with books) was done for the Toledo Zoo program, the "Oh Grey Wolf" activity was done with the Metroparks program, the "Ride the Rock Cycle" activity was done with the Challenger Learning Center program, and the “Ice Cream in a Bag” activity was done with the Sauder Village outreach program. You’ve also seen several other activities (e.g., apple peeling demonstration) and received several types of materials (e.g., books, online resources) during the professional development sessions.

With this journal response, I’d like you to reflect upon your use of these supplemental activities and materials in your classroom.

Please describe how you have been using these activities and materials in your classroom (e.g., which, if not all, of the activities/materials did you use, for what purpose did you use the activities/materials) and when you have been using them (e.g., before the outreach program, right after the outreach program, not associated with an outreach program). Also, describe any modifications you made to the activities/materials to better suit the needs of your students.

Please make sure your reflection is thoughtful and COMPLETE. Specific examples are always a big help! Thanks!
